ACDPR 2018: “Emerging Challenges and Opportunities Ahead”
Our Annual Conference 2016 and 2017 had raised territory-wide interests among frontline responders/practitioners, public sector, academia and the general public, on fundamental disaster-related concepts, knowledge and best practices. The third Annual Conference 2018 has kept the momentum going, and brought about insights into innovative and practical solutions for tackling emerging disaster risks, especially in the context of and perspectives from metropolitan cities where we are living in.
ACDPR 2016 was co-organized by HKJCDPRI and the Hong Kong College of Community Medicine (HKCCM). HKCCM is committed to advocate principles and practice of community medicine, with an emphasis on disaster prevention and community health promotion for over 25 years.
The 1-day conference touched upon 5 building blocks towards building a resilient health system and attracted 25 speakers and over 300 participants. A wide spectrum of stakeholders from multiple sectors were engaged, to grasp this golden opportunity to exchange knowledge and enhance communication with each other.
Co-organised by the HKJCDPRI and the Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine (HKCEM), the 3-day event successfully brought together 61 speakers and over 300 participants from a wide range of backgrounds including government representatives, healthcare professionals, NGO practitioners and academics working in the field of disaster preparedness and response.
